What Is a Governance Registry?
At the Trust Over IP Foundation we have been using the term “Trust Registry” heavily lately. An early protocol specification (TR protocol specification) was even created. However, the term “Governance Registry” came up in some discussions. It may help remove some of the confusion.
So, what is a Governance Registry?
It’s a digital repository that provides access to information managed under a Governance Framework. This information is used to interact with the digital systems that operate under a particular governance framework.

UPDATE (2023-02-17) – We’ve decided to stick to “Trust Registry” while we work through the technical details and to align with the norms and expectations out there. Trust Registry it is!
